21 Mar Hair care during swimming season
When you know you are going for a swim, wet your hair first and apply a deep conditioner. This forms a barrier on your hair and prevents chlorine/salt damage. Once your get out of the water, before your hair dries, be sure to rinse your hair out thoroughly with fresh water. (It is not necessary to shampoo every time.) Apply a little leave-in conditioner and your hair will be grateful. Another way to protect your hair (and colour) is to wear a swimming cap whilst in the water and a sun hat when exposed to the sun. Remember your hair needs to be cared for just like your skin.
